The Man Behind The Mission
Our founder and CEO, Nathan Watkins, is the driving force behind Troy Technologies. His passion for innovation and dedication to serving the differently-abled community have guided Troy Technologies from our very first day. Nate's journey into the world of mobility solutions started at a young age when he began to hone his skills and understanding of mobility devices whilst working alongside his father, who was an engineer specializing in pediatric mobility devices at Convaid Products Inc.
As a teenager, Nate worked tirelessly alongside his father starting to work on mobility devices on the assembly line. Nate’s unrelenting passion for learning and dedication to high-quality work allowed him to quickly progress to become a production welder. As the company expanded, so did Nate's role, and he advanced to tool-making and production management. His dedication, innovation, and devotion were evident to all, and over the years he would continue to advance eventually taking on the roles of plant manager and lead foreman, embodying the spirit of innovation and leadership that defines his career.
Nate's experiences at the factory ignited a lifelong passion for invention and problem-solving. It was this passion alongside growing demands for change that were going unfulfilled that would lead him to a realization that a new and revolutionary wheelchair was needed. This realization led to the birth of Troy Technologies, a company founded to directly address the unique challenges faced by wheelchair users and to listen to their needs. Nate's commitment to listening to the community and finding innovative solutions has been the cornerstone of our success.
